"Don't ever let me hear you say you love my daughter."
Works similar to Lothere?

Hi all,
I know I am not the only person still wandering these pages, like a ghost almost. What I've been yearning for is something new to read that is similar to the Kingdom of Lothere: medieval setting, political intrigue, romance tales, or none of the above! It need not be sims related and it does not necessarily have to be a book... I just thought it'd be fun if we put together a reading list! You can only reread something over and over again so many times after all...
I know Pride & Prejudice and Anne of Green Gables may have been inspiration for some storylines... I have read P&P but I need to read Anne; and I'm sure everyone in the world is tired of ASOIAF...

I had tears running down my face in the bus as I read the final chapter of that book, I got SO invested in the characters, and felt like I lived a whole lifetime with them. And such an incredible and fraught love story (or love stories really).
I have no idea if there is a good English translation out there, but I also just read for the first time the Accursed Kings (Les Rois maudits) series in the original French. George RR Martin was inspired by it and called it "the original Game of Thrones". I loved that one too, but there's a lot more politicking and assassinations than love stories in that one.

It has an abundance of plot, the political maneuvering, family bonds, romance and magic. Most importantly to me, it has a ton of really rich, really complicated characters and it does help fill the Lothere-shaped place in my heart.
Also, have y'all read Van's Kingdom of Naroni? You really should!
