While writing the next chapter, wherein Malcolm and Cubby meet King Malcolm III of Scotland, I had to take a step back and figure out exactly what is the history between Malcolm III and the clan of Black Colin. That led to figuring out the history of the clan itself.

Upon commencing The Politico-​Sigefrithian, I immediately realized that I could never neatly summarize the historical context of early 1067 in the little space available to me at the top of the page.

Verily, I thought, Pre-​Lotherian History should be an article in its own right… so I wrote one. Never dreaming how many hours it would take. *sigh*
