Lothere's fussy way to inherit custom skins

If you've seen this post about how Lothere customizes her skins, you'll understand how great it is. If you were smart, you probably downloaded her screenshots. If you were a boob like me and didn't do so when the opportunity presented itself, you might be kicking yourself. I saved it as a bookmark and now it's no longer there. Maybe anyone who was smart enough to save it might be able to help me out. And maybe if Lothere didn't know about it...surprise!(?) I use a lot of the same skins she uses (as a lot of us might) and think the value system she had going on was awesome. I'd give you virtual cookies. =)

Since we're on the topic of skins, does anyone know of any good skins out there that might either be new or not-so-new but not as popular as some of the others? I like the skin Emma is using but haven't really found it. Then again, I haven't played the game in almost 3 months so I can say I haven't been actively searching for anything either. But Spring Break is coming up and I just might run the game up again.

By Emma, do you mean Princess Emma? I didn't think she had anything special going on. She has... let me check... a missing skin. She must have inherited Sigefrith's old-old-old skin, which I have long since deleted. She has her Mom's skin as recessive, and that's gone too. So I will take advantage of this opportunity to fix her genes.

But it does mean that Emma has been using the default medium skin, which in my case is an "improved" Louis skin that is anything but Barbie. I guess I will keep that for her dominant gene since you like it. *shrugs*

One of the things I plan to add the Bio site now that it's sort-of coming back online is some info about the Sims themselves, so I don't have to keep track of bits of information in three different spreadsheets any more. And one of the things I plan to include is which skin and eye they are using. I deleted a bunch of my older ones, and I am trying to remember to upgrade my characters as I go, but as we have just seen, I sometimes forget.

Oh, yeah, and thanks for sending me to have a surprise glance at a leering Imin. My first sight of him in the "improved" Louis skin with "improved" naked mesh has remained burned into my eyes.

Is it a ridiculous reason of me to say that the reason I like Emma's (old?) skin is because she has/had a beauty mark right by her mouth? I love little traits like this because it makes the sims feel more unique and gives them more detail. It is more fun when I have a baby born and they have a skin that may have freckles, scars, or other marks on their bodies. It seems more realistic and more memorable than sims who have perfect, flawless skin.

Thanks for putting the files back up. I'll be sure to save them this time. And since I can't save them right this second or look at the link since I'm at work, I'll be sure to do that when I get a moment at home.

But it's just makeup, not part of her skin. I think she was my first character to ever have a beauty mark, though.

Now I have so much CC for freckles, beauty marks, scars, under-eye circles, anti-shine blush, cheek hollows, nose definition, etc.... I don't think a single new Sim gets by without a few extra features.

Well, at least I can stop agonizing about the skin. I do love the mole, though. I know they are on a lot of sites but is there a particular set that you would recommend? I would love these kind of features for my kids. Some of them really do need certain traits to be more detectable and individual.

Your one-stop shop for beauty marks would have to be the 2-B-Real birthmarks by simenroute. [ first set ] [ second set ] [ third set ] They're under blushes and can be combined with each other and other blushes as well. The only problem is that there are so many of them (around 30) that you will find it very hard to scroll past them without using one, and all of your Sims well henceforth have beauty marks on their face.

My sister tried these moles for some of her sims that are darker skinned and said they came out too light. I've been looking for other moles but with no luck. Have you (or anyone else for that matter) found anything for sims with darker skins?

Files are back again. Holy smokes, I need to update my own skins. I have downloaded a ton (including some more recent Enayla ones) since I last geneticized things. It's just that it's been so long since anyone has had a baby in Lothere.... I haven't needed to!

Funny, that's exactly what I'm doing. ^^
I went on so many download sprees in the last few weeks it really isn't funny anymore. Now I have all that new stuff cluttering my download folder and my painfully established order is all gone *sob*
