Submitted by Devin on Fri, 07/04/2008 - 09:36.I found out about Lothere by accident. EnblithTheFair was featured in an interview at the sims 2 website and she was talking about her Royal Kingdom Challenge. I then read her blog on the same website and she said something like if you like reading medieval stories read the Kingdom of Lothere but be warned it's very addicting.
I'm going to find that blog entry....
EDIT: Here it is

Submitted by Sonia on Fri, 07/04/2008 - 10:43.It was through Taryn that I discovered Kingdom of Lothere and I was so impressed that I'm spreading the 'good' word about it.
Right from the very beginning, I've been hooked, 'tuning in' each day to see if there are any new updates.

Submitted by Karen on Fri, 07/04/2008 - 13:20.I think that I read an author's comment about how Lothere updates daily (which is not *quite* true, but close enough) and I was excited to look up a story that would always have something new added. I'm not even sure whose blog it was, or if I continued reading that story because I started reading Lothere that afternoon and didn't stop (except for working, sleeping, and seeing friends/family when I couldn't avoid it) until I finished, about 3 1/2 weeks later because I was so completely hooked.
I'm still completely hooked.
For a long time -- I would
Submitted by Lothere on Fri, 07/04/2008 - 13:27.For a long time -- I would say close to a year -- I truly did update at least once per day. I was quite disappointed when I finally began missing days, but that coincided with taking a full-time job. So depending on when that comment was made, it might have been true.
I ought to do a "how long did it take you" poll one of these days too. I am getting the feeling that by now it takes a dedicated reader around 1 month and a voracious one something like 2 weeks.

Submitted by Verity on Fri, 07/04/2008 - 14:28.I remember reading on Yicke's website that she hadn't posted any chapters for ages because she was distracted by Lothere. So I headed on over and promptly ended up so distracted it has majorly changed my life (by inspiring me to write my own blog... thanks again Lothere ). I think it took me about a month to read through it and I was reading whenever I had the time. I think I was quite busy then with trying to move to Sweden (the same visa hell you are probably going through at the moment Lothere . Ugh... the worst thing about my visa is I have to update it once a year and judging by how much my face has changed for the worse from just one year of PhD (think pale, yellowish skin, sunken eyes and a permanent, harrowed look) it is going to be the flipbook from hell. Verity after one year, two... ugh I don't even want to know. I look so fresh and healthy in the before picture
I actually got to it through
Submitted by Cassie on Fri, 07/04/2008 - 16:25.I actually got to it through Mhalwae. I'd read bits and pieces of Mhalwae but at some point I started reading it all the way through and really enjoyed it. I kept seeing comments from Lothere and links to the site and references to that story. I was starting to really like the whole Royal Kingdom thing, so I read it all through. (I think I'd come across it before, though. The first entry I ever read was "Britamund becomes a wife." Of course, me thinking all the entries would be that sexual, I kind of went, eek!) I got to Mhalwae through the links on Shana's Sims, which I've been reading since I started reading Sims blogs, a couple of years ago.

It gave out 7 different links to see examples of how the RKC worked and chose this one at random. When I saw the banner, I thought Lothere got through like 6 generations of sims by the time I got there. Imagine my surprise when I saw Alred stumbling about in one of the posts. Still, I like the story telling much better I think than if she just recored the challenge and HAD gone for six generations.

Submitted by Dominiquex on Wed, 11/09/2011 - 21:28.I only found it relatively recently through Plumbbob Keep. I actually went here fairly quickly after hearing so many positive references, and popped over to read the (then) latest post - Eithne Shatters the Shell. It was good, but I felt too far from the mythology to get into it. Months later, I tried it again. I think I started from some of the founding families that time, and I remember feeling I HadToKnow! about then-dead Matilda. So I picked a point and started reading. But then I HadToKnow! about then-dead Maud. For the first few years I only read Maud chapters, then I branched out, then I read obsessively for maybe 3 weeks or a month. I was ok with updates for a while, but then I started a reread from the beginning. It's really too good to give up.

Submitted by Joseph on Thu, 11/10/2011 - 09:51.I actually got here whilst googling for something else entirely different (I forget what) over a year ago now. I remember reading the first two chapters (that is, the prologue chapter and the Cenwulf & Colburga chapter) and thought to myself "Do I really want to spend the next year reading this blog?" When I read the Alred & Matilda chapter, the answer was YES!!!
Lothere was actually the first sims 2 blog I ever came across. I had played sims 2 very briefly when I was younger but got bored and the game ended up being sold in a jumble sale. When I came across this blog, I was literally amazed that Jenny could do all this stuff with her sims. Of course then I realised that she wasn't the only sims author out there. I clicked Van's name, came across her story and her amazing blogroll, and I'm still trying to catch up on all the stories out there. It will probably take forever and a day.
Lothere also led me to start a blog of my own, and that has been going since January. So this tiny little corner of the interwebs started it all for me.
And so I told my life story lol.
