BZZZT!
Well, yeah, actually...
And this:
Yes, Cearball, BECAUSE YOU ARE SOMETHING OF A DIMWIT! An expressive, affectionate dimwit, but dimwit nevertheless.
...
Now, go through all of those items and add "in bed" and it actually describes Cearball fairly well.
HAHAHAHA **flat out
Submitted by Twistedchic911 on Wed, 09/03/2008 - 18:29.HAHAHAHA **flat out laughing* Oh man, Penelope I love how you probably found this by accident, and then immediately thought about Lothere, and then in turn thought about one of the most annoying characters.
But on man! When I read this part:
# Your first name of Cearball has given you a clever, deep mind and the talent to excel in highly inspirational lines of endeavour as a dramatist, musician, writer, or artist.
I immediately thought of an artsy-bass plucking Carriedballs. And then the thought bubble popped and the dream died and left me with stupid lugging Cearballs. If you think of him in a high school clique, he'd be the head football player that would stuff the geeky kids down the urinals and through the plumbing. The one that is failing school and checks himself out in front of the mirror to check his over-gelled hair. *grumbles*
EDIT: Pen, put in Carriedballs or Carvedballs and see what pops up! It won't let me, so I have to live through you...

Submitted by PenelopetheFox on Wed, 09/03/2008 - 20:42.hahaha I'm too scared to try Carriedballs or Carvedballs! I just did a google search for "Cearball" and after the Lothere stuff, the name analysis came up. It made me giggle inside. Artsy Cearball.
EDIT: When you search Carriedballs, all you get is "Kraaia Halters Herself" and some site written in Kanji. When you search "Carvedballs" you get arts and crafts and excerpts from "Heart of Darkness". Interestingly though, all but one of the photo results for "Carvedballs" is from Lothere. None of them is a picture of Cearball and one of them is a picture of the Team Vash shirts.
Wow that's weird, I thought
Submitted by Twistedchic911 on Wed, 09/03/2008 - 21:15.Wow that's weird, I thought out of all the internet, someone would have to use my phrase. I mean, Carriedballs just sounds so funny to NOT use it. And Carvedballs seems to only exist in the relems of Lothere. It's pretty funny, my two reading-buddies are all pro-Cearballs, hey don't understand why he's just a doush, but if I can't shake sense into them, I guess Tiana will.
But really, it could become a popular phrase! I wonder why it didn't show up...... I think I'll go google Vash. I'll probably get a Vulcan thing pop up.
EDIT: Would it be weird if I said that only anime stuff showed up for Vash! This blond guy holding up a gun suddenly smacked my face when I pressed search. And then a star-trek reference was the second post.

But anyway, you're right Twisted! This was my favorite Vash picture:

Submitted by Lothere on Mon, 09/08/2008 - 16:47.Awesome picture.
Vash would totally wear those yellow glasses.
On another note I just installed Firefox 3 and now the fonts in this forum look like utter shit. Has anyone else noticed this??
Hahahhaa you saw that too!
Submitted by Twistedchic911 on Mon, 09/08/2008 - 16:56.Hahahhaa you saw that too! Wow that just made my day.... I love it when random people cosplay, it make my heart smile.
Anyway, I live on firefox 3, and that's all I really know, so I wouldn't be able to give you an opinion, 'cept the unusual smallness of the font, bu that could be a fault by me. *shrug*

Submitted by PenelopetheFox on Mon, 09/08/2008 - 20:45.I'm using Safari and the fonts appear to be the same as always? I dunno, Lothere!
My ex-nerd boyfriend informs me that the anime Vash (pronounced like "ash" with a hard "a" sound) is from a show called Tri-Gun. However, my boyfriend does not wish to be implicated as the source of that knowledge and wants me to claim that I heard it from some anonymous person. *cough*

Submitted by Lothere on Tue, 09/09/2008 - 16:32.In case anyone cares, I tracked the problem down to the Helvetica font on my PC. Firefox 3 handles kerning differently and that font must have had some whacked kerning. Deleted it, and problem solved. Now I just find that I need to increase the line height. *rubs eyes*
Penelope, what happened to your boyfriend? Did you break him of his nerdiness? CAN THAT BE DONE??
I think it's almost always
Submitted by Twistedchic911 on Tue, 09/09/2008 - 21:02.I think it's almost always impossible. I know from too much experience, but of course he changed when he became your boyfriend. And how do you pronounce (our) Vash? I'm in an epic fight with my reading-buddy about this. I say Vah-ssh only it's one syllable, or one handclap. Like flash, only with a V.

Submitted by PenelopetheFox on Tue, 09/09/2008 - 22:13.*scratches head* I always imagined that our Vash was pronounced like Vah-ssh. (As in, "open-up and say ahhhhh" type a sound). Not like the "a" in "ash" or "flash".
Hehe It's not my fault! He de-nerdified long before I met him! I don't know what the driving force behind it was. Maybe one day he woke up and realized that anime, presidential trivia and Hawaiian shirts were not going to get him the girls.
However, I am still a nerd and have no intention of stopping.
Is it bad that I like
Submitted by Twistedchic911 on Tue, 09/09/2008 - 22:22.Is it bad that I like presidential trivia and wear Hawaiian shirts?
And wave my arms excitedly when I see someone I know in the lunch line. And shout really loudly when I see a free pack of gum on the ground. (UN-opened thank you very much!) I'm the step beyond nerd. I'm a dork. I'm a creep, a weirdo, a mcspazitron. And anyway, Cassie (reading buddy #1) pronounces it the same way, but I NEED official proof, there's a twinkie on the line here! That's big stakes here.

The official, unambiguous,
Submitted by Lothere on Wed, 09/10/2008 - 04:26.The official, unambiguous, henceforth and for all time International Phonetic Alphabet transcription of Vash's name is:
I am not sure what all the extra h's and s's are in your approximations, but I think Penelope had it right. The "a" is not like the "a" in "flash"... it is the "a" in "spa". For all you phonetics NERDS out there (like me) it's the only open vowel the elves have, and its on its way to becoming extinct. Linguistically I mean. It is only used in very old words and as a marker for feminine names.
But if you get me in a bar and ply me with a kilt lifter, I will start blabbering about Vash-rhymes-with-flash. :-D I have a rather poor track record when it comes to pronouncing the names of my own characters in real life.
So you both win! :-D *confetti*
Ha! Potato, potahto. The h's
Submitted by PenelopetheFox on Wed, 09/10/2008 - 12:12.Ha! Potato, potahto.
The h's were in the approximations because it is really hard to write that name phonetically! But what you may note is that we used the exact same approximation, even though we clearly had different ideas about what the vowel sounds were.
And as for your Hawaiian shirts Twisted, rock and roll.
I thought it was Vash as in
Submitted by Verity on Thu, 09/25/2008 - 14:48.I thought it was Vash as in Flashing Vash (just chuck him into one of those awful seasons winter trenchcoats and he'll be all set). But I ALWAYS get it wrong. I am terrible with name pronunciation and in general while I have really tried I have given up somewhat. Egelric will forever by Eggelrick in my head. I just can't think of him any other way as hard as I try. And I really tried but slowly my head has converted it back to Egg.
I was cleaning my teeth while I was reading these comments and I nearly spat toothpaste all over the computer when I saw the pic of the Vash guy. So damn funny! I was snorting and snuffling through all the toothpaste and the boy was asking "what? what's so funny?" and "are you choking?".
I thought I'd look up Brude
Submitted by Verity on Thu, 09/25/2008 - 14:56.I thought I'd look up Brude and see what came up on googlepics and I found this wonderful hairdo:
http://www.blumefoto.dk/Mode/Brude%20006.JPG
It seems Brude means bride in another language (German? Dutch? anyone know?) so there are lots of pics of girls in puffy white dresses.
Speaking of which please don't tell me Brude is not pronounced like brood (as in dark and brooding in a red-haired freckled sort of way). I might cry
And Araphel brought up this:
http://araphelconsulting.com/Images/araphel%20logo.jpg
who knew he had his own consulting agency?
And for some reason this horrible horrible thing:
http://xs3.xoospace.com/myspace/graphics/29858.gif
Anyway... I think I might go and google some of my characters too for fun and then I should really go to bed.
Those were really special.
Submitted by PenelopetheFox on Thu, 09/25/2008 - 18:48.Those were really special. Did that woman have an artichoke in her head??
Brude is not German or Dutch but I don't know what language it is. And I always assumed "brood" for the pronunciation.
And Eggelrick! hehehehehe I thought that it was pronounced that way too at first but I looked at the pronunciation guide early on in my reading of the story and that squashed my previous "Eggelrick" notions.
However, I am only just recently learning about Leofric who will probably always be Leo-Frick in my mind.
The idea of Eggelrick is too
Submitted by Lothere on Fri, 09/26/2008 - 10:41.The idea of Eggelrick is too funny... I am thinking "Leggo my Eggelrick" now.
Even when I pronounce it WRONG, which I usually do, I pronounce the "e" like "ay" as in "day". A short "e" had never even occurred to me.
I'm about 50/50 on the pronunciation of Leofric. I do get the Leof part right by now, but the rick vs. rich is hard. But Egelric is so damned weird I tend not to bother.
Brude is definitely Brood WHAT ELSE COULD HE BE???
