I think you wandered into

nor entire storylines, and I have not lost my direction. I still have an epic, multi-generational goal I am aiming for, and even though realistically I doubt I will ever make it that far, I still have plenty of milestones along the way to guide me.
What I am looking for right now is simply balance. People rarely (never?) tell me anything is wrong with the story, so the only way I have to gauge whether some character or storyline or idea is not working is by the silence. Even that might work, except I have no way to know how many people actually read the chapter. Division by zero error.
So I ask questions like this. Or the "Animal POV" poll. I probably wouldn't change the story on account of your responses (polls like "Team Vash or Team Malcolm?" are not intended to help me make up my mind
) except by force of public outrage, but I might change my focus when I decide what sort of chapters to write to advance it.
And, François, are you caught up yet? *stares suspiciously over glasses* I just did a chapter with Iylaine in it a week or two ago. For chapters about Iylaine we'll still have to wait a little while though.
