Yes, but only if we get to see him with Fergus.

Yes, but only because Malcolm with Cearball is better than no Malcolm at all.

In my original Cearball
Submitted by Lothere on Sat, 03/28/2009 - 17:50.In my original Cearball plans (back in the Evil Mustache-Twirling Villain Cearball days, that is), he was supposed to go back to Ireland right around Christmas, so I suppose his lease is coming pretty close to expiring. And in fact I have run out of explicit items for him on my outline.
So now I have to decide just how much more I want to do with this guy at this time.
Should I make him be an important part of the Sturm und Drang that is about to take hold of Malcolm's life? (Don't worry -- poll option notwithstanding we will be seeing more Malcolm in the near future, whether or not Cearball sticks around.)
Should I keep him around to take advantage of the surprisingly amusing couple he made with Fergus? (I was totally not expecting that, and I'll have a hard time throwing those two together, but oh it seems like fun.)
Or should I just send him packing?
Maybe it's worth seeing how Connie deals with the heart-break of this past afternoon, and how she handles the fact that there are all these kilted guys swarming around her now. (And for some mysterious reason, no Eadred.) Maybe Cearball will actually seem like a dear friend compared to Lugaid and Ferdie and the like. Maybe you will even come to like the idea of those two together.
So I don't know. Any thoughts?

I liked him in that chapter with him and Malcolm and Fergus, but he annoys the hell out of me when he's around Connie, so I guess that averages out as "Whatever".

Submitted by Cassie on Sat, 03/28/2009 - 19:23.Well, I want MOAR CAREBALLS, myself. But I'm one of his (rather few) fans.

From the Bible. When Cain
Submitted by Tiffany on Sat, 03/28/2009 - 21:33.From the Bible.
When Cain was sent away for slaying his brother, Abel, he built the first city and named it after his son, Enoch.
Genesis 3:16-17
16And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.
17And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.

Submitted by PenelopetheFox on Sun, 03/29/2009 - 05:00.If only I could have tied my Enoch to the biblical Enoch. I like making esoteric references like that. But alas, the backstory doth not fit.
EDIT: Wait- Are Carebear and Cynan a package deal? Not that that would change my poll answer...
Woah I go to bed and this
Submitted by Lothere on Sun, 03/29/2009 - 06:06.Woah I go to bed and this conversation immediately goes way over my head. Yes I meant Enoch of Pen's story Dragging Blue Lake. Aren't you all reading DBL too? And if so, why not?
I love me some Biblical references in this story but I don't think I would dare go after Cain and Abel and their aftermath, at least not in an allegorical sense. Not only has it been done soooo many times, but after Steinbeck's East of Eden I think it's fair to say that it has simply been DONE. *makes note to read that again*
But I'm not saying the actual events that took place on the outskirts of Eden three thousand years ago will not have an effect on this story...
As for Cynan and Cearball, the one thing that's fairly sure is that when Cearball goes back to Ireland, Cynan will NOT be with him. Else I will have to jettison all the remaining plans I do have left for him. For Cearball I mean. For Cynan I currently have NO plans except that I believe he will be seated to the right of Finn next time we see him. Maybe I need to do a Cynan poll too. Except I need a write-in poll, like a "What the hell do I do with this boy?" poll. *sigh*
