Michael Jackson and Farah Fawcett are Dead

I can't believe it he was a part of my childhood. And Farah was so beautiful may they both rest in peace.

I'd never heard of him before, to be honest. Poor guy

Submitted by Tiffany on Fri, 06/26/2009 - 04:52.I'm still in shock. I need him. And his music. Even if I was a little frightened by him in his later years. I am now on Youtube looking up all one million of his hits. AMAZING!
I just wish people would give him the peace he didn't have when he was alive and stop speculating. They didn't do it to Farrah Fawcett, why him?
Yeah, I thought about that
Submitted by PenelopetheFox on Fri, 06/26/2009 - 05:38.Yeah, I thought about that too, Devin. "Off the Wall" was the first cassette I ever owned. (And if there is anyone on this forum too young to have ever owned a cassette, I don't wanna know about it! :p)
Heh, I was almost too young
Submitted by Tiffany on Fri, 06/26/2009 - 05:49.Heh, I was almost too young for CDs with all these illegal downloads and Itunes available, who needed them?
But I will be buying ALL his CDs now. I've been meaning to start a CD collection of all the greats like him, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Prince, etc. Now I have a reason to.
I never got into MJ too
Submitted by Lothere on Fri, 06/26/2009 - 06:11.I never got into MJ too much. When I was in first grade, we were all trying to moonwalk on the playground though. I think Thriller came out that year. I used to watch all his videos on MTV (back when MTV was just music videos all the time... I know crazy right?) but I was at an age where I liked Weird Al Yankovic's renditions a lot better. Actually, I'm still at that age...

That's probably why. But

I liked pop music until I got to be about 11, which was when I discovered the Stones. Good times.
EDIT: Wait, Lothere, you didn't like New Kids? All these years, I thought that I was the only one.

I have never believed those cruel allegations about him. To Michael was a gentle yet confused soul who was greatly misunderstood,.

Submitted by Lothere on Fri, 06/26/2009 - 11:43.Perhaps, Devin, but you have said exactly the same thing about Maud.
Pen, you're old enough to like or not like New Kids? You must have been on the young end and I was on the slightly-past tween end of the hater spectrum.
My big revelation was Pink Floyd. Before that I listened to the Bangles. After that I subsisted on Cleveland's classic rock stations. Somehow I did fit a lot of Depeche Mode in there too. Then I heard "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and my world was forever changed. Good times.

Thats different Meryt. I really do believe that he was good person.
I never said that I believed
Submitted by Tiffany on Fri, 06/26/2009 - 16:30.I never said that I believed the allegations. For me, there wasn't enough evidence for me either way, though there were some strange things that he said about sharing his bed. I pray that wherever he is, he finds the peace he didn't find in his troubled life.
And I hope he's moonwalking wherever that may be.

No one is saying you believed the allegations. I'm just saying that I found it to be a load of crap.

I found it to be convenient (and typical) that the lawsuit was settled with $20 million. If I'd been "devastated" then I'd want more than money. I'd want justice.

Submitted by PenelopetheFox on Fri, 06/26/2009 - 17:36.Oh heck yeah, I remember the New Kids. They're the first musical act that I distinctly remember hating. My mother bought me a New Kids lunch box in the first grade, not know about my whole loathing situation and had to return it for a Barbie one.
I also hated 90210 which was very popular amongst the girls in my class. In retrospect, I have no idea why our parents let us watch that. We were way too little.
