Actually, it was the cockaninny moment for me as well, but combined with the fact that they are the Lotherian Anne and Gilbert. It just has to be. Plus, that series is quite possibly my favorite set of books, so seeing some parallels here just makes me happy.

I never read those Anne books or whatever so I didn't know what people were talking about... I kind of did when Gwynn had that dream, but then when Finn actually showed up I was like "Hell naw" but then after a while... now I can't wait to see them together :O

As soon as she had that dream I was convinced that wasn't really Egelric, but his son. Not too many chapters later Finn makes his appearance... I keep expecting her to have this moment where she recognizes Finn as looking like the "Egelric" of her dream.

Besides, she seems to seems to be coming around to seeing why Egelric might be attractive.
