Creating dominant-recessive ranges for different species?

This post by Alkaloid (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,10517.0.html) caught my eye a while ago:
In a nutshell, you can use decimals and values larger than 4 to set your eye genetics. I haven't tested it with anything higher (more recessive) than 5, or decimals out more than 2 places, but even if I inadvertently worked within game constraints, that's at least 600 different genetic values to play with.
I'm not sure if this is useful for anything other than getting one's OCD on, or perhaps creating dominant-recessive ranges for different species? Anyway.
So, apparently if you fuss with game genetics you can link specific eye colors and skintones together? I know how to change the dominance values with Wardrobe Wranger or SimPe, but I have no idea how to do... well, what I just said. How do you, to quote Alkaloid, "create dominant-recessive ranges for different species"? Any ideas?

Submitted by Lothere on Fri, 11/06/2009 - 15:15.I have no idea. My guess is that you could use the integers to subdivide by species, and the decimals to make recessive ranges in there.
For example, if I used some special sparkly eyes for elves, and didn't want them to appear in humans, and vice versa, I could do this:
Sparkly brown: 1.0
Sparkly blue: 1.2
Sparkly violet: 1.4
Sparkly rainbow-kaleidoscope-super-recessive: 1.8
Human brown: 2.0
Human blue: 2.2
Human violet: 2.4
Human gray-super-recessive: 2.8
This way, as long as you never bred humans with elves, you could have a full range of dominance for elves, segregated from a full range of dominance for humans. But if you bred an elf with a human the sparkly eyes would always win.
That's assuming I understand how Sims genetics works for eyes in the first place. AFAIK it's just a simple check for greater-than. Brown (1.0) always beats blue (2.0). For two blues (2.0 and 2.0) it's 50-50 chance. But I may be wrong about that.
I'm also not sure of the point, since (unlike with skintones) Sims only inherit one or the other of their parents' eyes, so it isn't as if two humans will mate and spontaneously have a kid with sparkly brown eyes, even if sparkly brown and human brown are both set to 1.0. I guess the only time this would be interesting is if you WANT super-sparkly eyes to always win over human-colored eyes if you have a half-elf child. (Or you would switch the numbers and make the human eyes be in the 1.0 range... that way only full-blood elves would have sparkly eyes.)
Anyway, that's my relatively uninformed theory. Take it for what it's worth, which is not much.
I see. Well, at least I

Mmm, I'm off to experiment now. I'll tell you how that goes in case you want to have some rainbow-kaleidoscope-eyed elf/angel/sparkly!vampire species

Also she there are some enalya eyes and skins available genticized already if you are interested...and furry skins. There are also some good explanations on how they do the furry skins and regular skins on a slightly different scale and why. It's the site that helped me to understand sim genetics...and I loved downloads too.
