I have never been a big fan of Sims 3, but I almost changed my opinion now...
Have you heard of THIS?
// yrmh, they deleted the writing where I was linking. ;/ Anyway, it's the Sims Medieval. Use google if you want more information. ^^

Submitted by Lothere on Fri, 07/30/2010 - 04:39.It looks more like it's real, but EA made people take the info down because it's not "official" yet. We'll see.
I am going to hope it's true because maybe people will do some Sims 3 to Sims 2 conversions of some of the stuff?
Here's the official EA

Submitted by Ravenfeather on Wed, 08/04/2010 - 04:55.So, it seems it will be a game of its own, apart from the basegame.
Then it would be not that different from other fantasy PC games, I think.
Good thing might be the possibility of object conversions for Sims 2.
Ha, ha, right? Like the SIMS
Submitted by Alicia on Wed, 08/04/2010 - 08:26.Ha, ha, right? Like the SIMS community really needed a totally different game to be able to tell stories! Meh. You don't need EA to validate you, Jenny. You've got your own community of adoring readers for that.
And OMG the pictures!
Submitted by maruutsu on Wed, 08/04/2010 - 19:02.And OMG the pictures! *faints*
If it's a stand-alone game, it might have been designed for those of us who don't meet the requirements for TS3, much like The Sims 2 Stories was back in its day. Wouldn't that be great?
Also, this:
The Sims Medieval offers players a chance to build up a medieval kingdom, controlling characters from all walks of life, from Kings and Queens, to Knights and Wizards, Blacksmiths and Bards.
Looks like they're trying to create a more action, RPG-like oriented game. Trying to get into the LotR and MORPG craze while it lasts, maybe?
From their minimal
Submitted by Lothere on Thu, 08/05/2010 - 04:09.From their minimal description it actually seems less sandbox-like than Sims 3. (Which is already a step down from Sims 2). Which makes it worse for storytelling. It might be a fun game, but it sounds like you're only "telling the stories" they provide for you to tell. But it's hard to guess at this point.
I don't particularly care either way since I don't expect I'll ever buy it. Not until they make the Sims 2 - to Sims 3 converter for all my Sims, lots, and CC!
I wonder if they've been

Submitted by Chicklet on Tue, 01/11/2011 - 13:07.As far as Sims Medieval, I'm very wait and see. It comes out in March. It will take some very detailed reviews before I'd be willing to buy. There are some things I want to know!
I want to still be able to make my own characters and do my own kingdom plot(s).
If it is like sims stories, than perhaps there is a "freestyle" option like sims stories did. Then we could play our kingdoms as we like.
If we have to play out the medieval stories, and then we can have the kingdom to do with as we please when we are done, than it may be worth it. (I know someone who finished one of the sims stories, that is what happened.) It would be fun to play the stories out. If I had never discovered the sims, that would be massively fun and enough to content me. But lets face it, it just doesn't sound like nearly as much fun as playing out our own medieval stories, does it? If that's the way it is, this may get people to buy and play who have never played sims before. (Who after completing will be running out to buy sims I bet.)
I'm not upset about cc conversion. I've seen pictures of that game and I'm already envious. I want working stocks too... I'm hoping at the very least that some very talented cc artists will copy ideas from that game and post them for sims 2 junkies like us.
If it is story writing worthy, I'm sold! I'd be willing to write a new story. Then again, the second gen in my medieval story is still in the toddler stage. I don't have a 5 year investment. I have to wonder...if Lothere rewrote her story in a newer better game, how would it be different? Would she still kill Matilda and Alwy? If so it would be a completely different story.
so has anyone played this
Submitted by Miriam on Sat, 05/26/2012 - 16:54.so has anyone played this game so far already?
I bought this game a few days ago it's very different and I'm still figuring things out but it does look nice and I even manage to take some nice screenshots ... even if I'm not sure how to do certain things to make stuff better... and I'm not sure in how far I could create stories with it. Well I am just taking lot's of fun screenshots while just questing through so if there is enough I could make some real story with that.
*sorry if the screenshot stretches:
I don't know what the English terms in the game are... >.<; he is something like the doctor and I named him Gregorius Huis (in my Dutch game you see Bloedlater Gregorius) after Gregory House. He is a random made sim didn't want to make him look like House in the deepest details.
He is also a little more friendly in personality ... but only a little since his treatment ways are kind of... but he is addicted to drinking alcoholic drinks in reference.

Submitted by Ann on Sat, 05/26/2012 - 23:07.Yes, I have played it. It's amusing, but nothing like "Sims" (should be).
What basically annoyed me most that you never got a decent explanation of the points system they have for quests (maybe I'm the only one who is that slow, but I didn't understand it until halfway through my 3rd kingdom...) and that it's so very repetitive. You're just doing the same quests over and over again for every new kingdom you play, and every new kingdom ambition requires you to start a new one. Plus, while I usually don't like building much (because I suck at it) it annoys me that you can't build in Sims Medieval. At all! You can merely change the furniture. And I'm not a big fan of the graphics eiher.
All in all it's a nice little game and definitely playable if you have time to waste. As long as you don't expect it to be "Sims", because it ain't and will never be.
But "House" as a medieval physician is awesome! XD *thumbs up*
