Well, my money is not on Malcolm Sr. coming home, sweeping Lasrua off her feet, and engaging with her in a rousing bout of CLIFF SECKS.
The rain makes the preview picture look sort of ... sad and pensive. However, since Lasrua is a water elf, rain might make her feel happy.
But somehow, I don't think so. I think Lasrua went out for a walk in the rain, because ... because it's spring, and she's spent most of the winter cooped up in Aengus's castle, and Cat is about to have her baby any minute now, and she just needs to be alone for a while. She's going a bit stir-crazy, like Iylaine used to. And, of course, here her brother is, about to become a father, and Lasrua probably expected to be pregnant by now if she would have married Lor. Heck, she's almost seventeen, she might have already had a kid! Instead, well, she's married, but her hubby is MIA. So that might make her, well, a little pensive.
And then ... something happens?
What's your best guess, Joseph?

FWIW Rua doesn't live at Aengus's manor, she lives at Nothelm for the moment. But the poor girl doesn't really have a home, since Paul's house burned down, and everyone has been expecting Malcolm to show up any day now, so why arrange something permanent?

What do I think is going to happen?
Rua goes down to the moat. She really needs to escape the crowds at Nothelm. Whilst there she wonders what on earth has happened to Magog. The Old Man shows up and begins comforting her. After feeling better, someone (maybe Alred?) tells her that Cat has gone into labour and is asking for her. The chapter ends with us wondering if Cat is going to be alright.
I'm probably completely wrong but hey that's the fun.

My plan for the Old Man was that he would combine the best of Alred (the poetry and the dashing, daring knight), which attributes were divided between Dunstan and Yware, with their corresponding downsides. I meant for the Old Man to be Alred without the downsides. And in some ways he is. He's a thoughtful little dear, and he certainly has a way with The Ladies. But I fear what that he has inherited from his father is his tendency towards anxiety and depression.

It does give me a bit of a shudder to think she's essentially in bed with Leof. But I think sharing a bed with your travelling companions is the way it was back in those times. People of less rank and money would probably be sleeping four to such a bed too.
I'm dying to know what they're talking about. Leof looks serious, so maybe (hey, I can hope right?) he's confiding in Nora, at least a little. I think if he does it might be a good thing. Get it off your chest and find some sympathy in a listener that won't be outraged at the bare thought. I think for all her jokes and sillyness Nora might be able to help her uncle a bit, maybe offer some good advice even. And once she knows about the state of things at "home" she might want to get to Lothere asap. I can see her wanting to shake things up a bit. She could maybe even become Hetty's friend. Oh, Alred would so not be pleased about a female Leof!

It's a remarkable banner shot though, always love the extra detail with the realistic night sky and the rest of the detail Lothere adds in general, it's what makes it so special when compared to the Sims 2 gameplay.

None of them looks uncomfortable or even that serious, so that might mean that Sigefrith is amenable to the idea. Or maybe it's because they just came in and the talk hasn't really started yet.

Yep, the hair was my main clue. I can only think two characters who use that style (Vash & Finn) and I think Finn doesn't have elf ears that could peek out of his hair. If those I see are elf ears. *zooms*
