Elves and Basic Chemistry
Submitted by Bastet on Tue, 08/30/2011 - 20:09.
I was studying for chemistry ("studying", since this is the beginning of the year and so I learned this stuff way back in fifth grade and every year since) when it occurred to me that since freezing, melting, and evaporating are all physical changes and therefore ice, liquid water, and vapor are all forms of water, that surely meant that there are water elves with ice and vapor nature somewhere at some time. And if that's so, how much do elves (who get extra help from their handy-dandy nature-seeing) know about chemistry and the physical/chemical changes involved?
And yes, Lothere interferes with my homework this way on a daily basis. I got all excited the other day when I was studying for AP European History and came across the 1000s, recognizing such names as William the Conqueror. That era only got a blurb though The Renaissance had more stuff going on and took up the space.

Hmm. I imagine that ice
Submitted by Lothere on Wed, 08/31/2011 - 15:33.Hmm. I imagine that ice falls under water. Probably water vapor too, since Vash was able to condense it out of the air and make it fall on Alred.
It makes you wonder what "air" is, then. Osh has the nature of mostly nitrogen, with lesser amounts of oxygen and hydrogen, and traces of rare gases? :-/
Actually I think the elven "natures" are more metaphysical than chemical.
