Chat Issues

I'm having some problems with the chat since about 2 days ago.
There's no sound and the smiley box doesn't appear correctly (textual smilies instead of normal ones)...

Am I the only one with this particular problem? Any suggestions how I might fix it, if I can? *hopes*

I haven't changed anything on the site, and it's working for me. Did you change something on your computer? Does it work if you switch to a different browser?

I tried it in Internet Explorer and it works fine.
My Firefox updated recently to version 8.0, could that be the problem? I don't recall having changed anything else.

Hmm it could be FF 8. I am still using 7, so we'll see what happens when they upgrade FF for Mac.

When I went to FF 7 it did screw up the formatting of the forum a little. Both the forum and the chat were written a long time ago and not by me, so they may be broken in little ways that modern browsers are less tolerant of.
