Does anyone know what Jenny's doing now?

I was just wondering if anyone knows if she has an online presence elsewhere, whether that includes posting her writing or not. Lothere is super important to me, and because I was a young teen when I found it it was pretty formative to my taste in storytelling--thanks for introducing me to the joys of large-cast, multiple-pov fiction, Lothere! So I would be ecstatic if it turned out she had a blog somewhere even if she didn't post very often. (As a side note, I recently looked up my old "I caught up!" comment and it's kind of hilarious. It includes a six-point list of what I wanted out of a conclusion to the Vashmalaina storyline, complete with all-caps rejection of Vash/Iylaine. Baby me.... was so earnest.......)

Anyway, did she ever disclose her last name? I'm not sure if she was comfortable with that and I just never saw it or if she was uncomfortable with it. I just wondered because if Jenny were to publish a book or something I would have no way to know about it, and that's tragic.

Any sort of new stories maybe? Or none because of lack of time or interest?

I understand and respect that people do want some sort of online privacy. I am kind of the same (although Miriam really is my name, but so old and common that I get to share it with many others so no harm in it).
Still some readers seem to be very close as in knowing eachother a bit through chat or comments or forum or anything...

Hello all. I am touched to know that people still think about me and this story given that the last chapter was posted over 2 years ago.

I am still here, and visit the site at least often enough to delete the occasional spam comment that gets through the filters.

I miss you guys AND these characters. I miss writing about this world and sharing it with you.

What's been going on with me lately:

I bought a house, which has also added about a 25 minute bus trip to and from work each day.
I got a German Shepherd puppy who is now 5 months old, already huge and still growing.
I got a Siamese kitten who is only 11 weeks old and currently snoozing on my lap

These three things take up a lot of what used to be my free time.

I am still writing, or trying to, when I get a chance. But I really want to get a proper novel out of it. I want to write The End, Happily Ever After on something one of these days.

My current works-in-progress, which I end up switching between as the muse strikes me, consist of:

A story of an Irish girl of the Viking era who pretends to have the second sight. I posted a snippet of this story some years ago on my Verso blog, I think.
A story taking place in 1820s Ohio that is very loosely based on Cat and Flann and some of the other characters from Lothere. At least it started out that way, but has inevitably diverged to where only hints remain.
This thing I was working on just this weekend. I can't help but still think about how I left Aengus, Rua, Malcolm, and Cubby hanging, and I can't help but still want to resolve their stories. So I am working on an outline to see if I can construct a novel out of it. It will require a lot of careful snipping to extract it from the tangled web of all the other storylines and still make sense, and I will likely abandon all the fantasy elements (e.g. the elves) entirely and just make it historical fiction, but there could still be a good story there. Maybe.

I wonder sometimes, if I ever do publish a novel and announce it here, whether anyone would still be around to see the news. It's nice to know there are at least a few who would.

I check in every so often. I've just been watching the show Outlander and it got me thinking about kilts which got me thinking about Malcom, so I popped by to reminisce.

I will definitely keep always keep a look out for that day when you publish something (I hope you do!) or start a new blog.

Well, glad to hear that life is going well for you Jenny. Congratulations on the new house. With the housing market here in Canada, that's a big undertaking these days. So, with that kind of commute, did you buy someplace up in Sydney by the Sea? LOL.

Like a few others, I check in a few times a month too. Just to see if there is news about any other writings too . And to see if anyone has posted anything of life's interests they may be having. Personally, I moved back to Ontario into my parents' house. They both turned 81 this year with Dad having given us a health scare awhile back. It'll be 2 years in October. A mad scramble to leave BC I must say as my sister thought he might not have much time left. I had always promised my sister I would return when their health became issues. My how that time flew. Don't know where it went. So, I've become the cook, bottle-washer and chauffeur for them. And my two girls came with me. Adie and Adelle love running up and down the stairs plus all the space that a three bedroom house will give them as a playground. Now, to try to figure out how to build an enclosure for them into the backyard so they can frolic outside in a safe enviroment.

I signed here in '09 and still check the site on a regular basis, to see if you posted a life sign (noticing you had deleted some spam was at least a small sign for me) and to scroll through the chapters row. Glad to hear that life's treating you well, Jenny and that you're still writing. That whole mess with Rua/Malcolm/Aengus would make for an awesome novel. Do it!

I check this site almost every day and of course I still frequent the chat room. It's not even about checking for updates any more, I just love this site so much. And of course I still read some old chapters when I have the time.

Sign me up for the mailing list when you publish your first novel (I'll be more surprised if you didn't get published, you're that good). Great to hear from all of you again!

Like Joseph, I still frequent the chat and check in, just because. I think it's amazing how many of us came together and remain friends because of Lothere. I admit, I miss it a ton. I miss your writing, I miss your pictures and I'm slightly sad we won't get to see what certain characters look like grown up or what their babies look like (Fwynn anyone?).

I haven't simmed in forever, but I remember those days very fondly and I know I'm not the only one, but you definitely inspired me to start writing. It's been a while on my end too, but the urge never quite goes away.

Hi, all. Glad to see the reunion.

I know I disappeared from here long before the story ended, for reasons that are still kind of unclear to me. I withdrew from all my internet communities for a long time. Some I returned to; most I never did. But I never stopped thinking about Lothere, or all of you.

I'm not surprised at all to see that the story has ended, but I was surprised at how grieved I was. I don't think I can ever put into words how much it meant to me, or how much this community did while I was there.

Jenny. When you publish that novel, please tell us, because I am there. I can't tell you how thrilled I'd be to see a book from you on the shelves.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to reread this whole epic tale from the beginning.

Hi everyone. It's good to see that people still return to the site. I know that I withdrew from the story before it ended but I did have it on my RSS feed so I always had it in mind. In fact, it's still there, as though I am hoping to see a new chapter someday. I'm actually still reading, at a pace so slow that a snail or tortoise would be impatient. It says a lot of Jenny's ability if we're all still thinking of Lothere to this day and people have gone back to re-read or are still reading. I truly wish to have that ability someday. I even read to get myself inspired when I'm having a bit of writer's block. It works like a charm every time. There's so many chapters that it's gonna be a while before I have to get back to the beginning, though that wouldn't be a problem anyway.

It's good to hear from you again Jenny. I'm happy to read that you're still writing. I can't wait to buy those novels and gush to people to buy it, even before I've cracked the first page.

I check in every once in a while - sometimes a few times a month, sometimes every few months - to see if anything is buzzing in the chat rooms or the forum. I'm especially grateful that you haven't taken any of this down. You have no idea how appreciative I am of that and I'm sure a lot of people are grateful of that too.
