I’m stealing a moment to let you all know that unexpected family responsibilities will drag me away from Lothere for a week or so. I should be back right after Christmas, Inch’allah. 
Here’s a sneak preview of the half-written upcoming chapter. Hopefully it will be up before the new year, but for now you can amuse yourself drawing funny thought bubbles over the heads of Malcolm’s mom, sister-in-law, and best buddy Cearball.

Assuming you mean Sir Malcolm's mom, she's still alive and doing fine. Malcolm is just afraid he'll never see her again, since he can't leave the valley.
All this time, I thought that woman was dead???
It makes me wonder what other delusions I'm laboring under.
