I just updated the site this morning. Most of the changes are visible only to the programmer, but there is one big new feature that seemed worthy of an announcement: monthly calendars.

Now, under the little story calendar in the right sidebar, there is a link to view the full month. (Example: February 1085) On that page you will see the titles of all the chapters for the month, as well as a few other types of events, such as births, deaths, and market days.

Eventually I will add more event types (saints days, birthdays of characters, etc.) but not before I add the ability to show/​hide event types. Otherwise the calendar gets really busy really fast.

I also added pictures to the Storylines page — just a representative picture for each storyline. Brightens up the page tremendously. :-)

Now, it’s been a while since I’ve put up a random picture, so here’s a little something: definitive proof that Saeward is NOT Sigefrith’s long-​​lost illegitimate son. No runt of Sigefrith could have such a chin, alas! It would have made such a juicy scandal.

But at least we know why Mysterious grows such a bulky beard… to hide the boyishness of his face. :-) He looks younger than Caedwulf when he shaves.

Update: I forgot to mention… RSS feeds for the story and for Verso should now feature full posts rather than previews only.

So far my posts have usually included relative image paths (e.g. “images/1085i/1067_sigefrith_matilda_259.jpg”) instead of full paths (“http://​www​.lothere​.com/​i​m​a​g​e​s​/​1​0​8​5​i​/​1​0​6​7​_​s​i​g​e​f​r​i​t​h​_​m​a​t​i​l​d​a​_​2​5​9.jpg”) which meant that pictures wouldn’t show up in RSS feed readers. Starting with the next chapter, pictures should appear as well. So you will never need to come to my site again! *sniff*
