That is so weird Devin! I had a dream that Sigefrith was my Dad the other night too!! Although I didn't get runted I can't really remember anything else about the dream but that though.

Ooo, ooo, I finally had one! The logic of it was lost on me but anyway... I had water nature! And there was a baby that was going to die if I couldn't freeze a tray of ice cubes. And Paul was there! And I kept moaning for him to help me but there was nothing that he could do. And no matter what I tried, I couldn't get the ice to freeze. The baby ultimately died. There were other parts to the dream but they had nothing to do with Lothere.

Last night, I dreamed that Cat had her baby and I was disappointed because it was a boy. Then it suddenly grew up and had a pencil mustache.

"Poor minty Vash." I would suggest that that go up in the quotes but is it really a quote if the person quoting said it originally?

I do think Emo Peter Pan >> Minty Vash, but there is a certain.... absurd poetry in the mintiness too. And I am not above quoting myself if the occasion warrants and you insist.

ETA: Having just glanced at the post that started this topic, I seem to have an unhealthy obsession with Vash and his shaving practices. Perhaps I need to... explore this.

OH ALRED! I am melting vicariously!

I had a dream last night that Mr. Lothere and I were slaves in some sort of alien civilization. There was no Alred in my dream. *sniffle*

Was he wearing jeans? For some reason the idea of Alred in jeans makes me swoon. More so than, say, anyone in Lothere except maybe Father Matthew. You JUST KNOW Alred has a nice butt.

It is surely hairy... he's a hairy dude so it would be quite remarkable if only his butt was bald.

Modern day Alred would totally grill eggplant. And serve it on slightly toasted, garlic-rubbed slices of olive pain de campagne, with caponata. And a glass of lightly chilled wine. Even at a log cabin.

When he was barbecuing, was he wearing a Kiss the Cook apron? I can definitely see Alred in a Kiss the Cook apron

Last night I had a dream where I was Synne -- apparently this was back when she was living with Brede and Estrid, and when Aelfden was still living with them. And Aelfden as usual was working himself to death, and I was trying to get him to stop, and finally I just grabbed him and gave him a hug. He started to cry, and I hugged him and hugged him until I woke up. It was just about the sweetest dream I ever had. (Oooh it was Christmas too!)

I know just the man to do it! (Since I can't. *sigh*)

I had another one this morning!
I was at the Hogge family dinner table (I know Wynna, Gunnilda, and Bertie were there, but I don't think anyone else was) and I was one of their sisters...I think I was between Bertie and Wynna. Wynna was there trying to convince her mother to let her be with Anson while Bertie argued against it and Gunnilda looked on impassively and I kind of rolled my eyes at all of it. My name may have been Helen for some reason...
The main weird thing I remember, though, was that in this dream-universe, Anson's nickname was Goatie for some inexplicable reason. Wynna kept referring to him as such: "But Mama, I love Goatie!" I'm pretty sure that there were other things going on, but I don't remember anymore.
I don't even know. Goatie.

I made my first Lothere dream a few days ago. And in my dream was ... Egeric

I can't remember it clearly, though it was in modern times, and that there was a very bad character. He was not bad because of nothing but out of self desperation. He was sad and frightening. And he had The Nose. During the dream, I didn't think : "Hey, it's Egelric !" but when I woke up, I realised I just had my first Lothere dream. I was so choked and pleased about it that I forgot the dream entirely but for Egelric.

Actually the kitten thing reminds me about Gwynn's dream... of Egelric trying to find a kitten. Hmm. You didn't drink any secret concoctions before bed did you?

I would like details about the Aelfden-sex. This morning I was actually thinking about a potential for Aelfden-sex, but probably subsequent rather than simultaneous to your dream. That would have been too spooky.

Hmmm.... Aelfden-sex... for some reason, I think if Aelfden is to be involved in the physical act of love any time soon, it should be with a kisor elf lady. I don't know why.

I actually had a Lothere dream myself, for once... sort of.

In my dream, I was sitting in social studies class, and the principal comes in and announces that our teacher is sick and we have a substitute, which is a little weird because normally you'd just go to class and find the sub there, but hey, when weird things happen in dreams, you don't question them until you wake up. ANYWAY, she leaves, and then a few minutes later, the sub walks in, and it's... Larl. And for some strange reason (probably the workings of my subconscious), he's not wearing a shirt, just a pair of low-rise jeans with a hint of his Calgary Flames boxers visible, some sunglasses pushed up onto his forehead, and a black belt with silver studs. Oh, and the necklace Aelfden gave him. And some steel-toed boots.

So he opens up his briefcase and shows a bunch of overheads about the situation with the kisor and the khirron like it was part of the curriculum, explains the customs of both groups, and basically just rants to the class. The students, of course, are listening intently and writing down every word he says. He finishes, then looks suspiciously around the class, and starts randomly teaching sex Ed. He whips a bunch of condoms out of his supposedly bottomless pockets and showers the class with them as if they were confetti. After that, he instructs us all to draw pornographic sketches ("To make sure you know where everything is"). So I start drawing one of him, and it's strangely good, since I can normally only draw very asymmetrical stickmen, but it's a dream so whatever. Anyway, I get very engrossed in the drawing, then all of a sudden I look up and he's right in front of me. He looks at the drawing, then at me, then the drawing, then me, and then he looks me straight in the eye and tells me "It's much bigger."

And then, I woke up, not sure whether I should be relieved or not.

Are you trying to out-dream Cassie or what? Holy smokes. If you replace "Larl" with "Imin" everywhere in that dream it actually makes a lot more sense. (Plus he's something of a Flames fan, wouldn't you know.) But there's no accounting for the subconscious, I suppose. I keep dreaming about Vash's clean-shaven chin.

I had MOAR LOTHERE DREAMS. First I had a dream that someone (probably Maire ) dug up Lili's body and was taunting Egelric with it. That one was awful.
Then I had a very long one about modern-day Lothere...about Egelric meeting Lili and Lili's eventual death, though I don't remember how that happened very well. And something about Alred and Egelric's relationship...I remember Egelric found Alred drunk and stuck in his trash can, brandishing beer bottles at him, while Egelric stood by unimpressed. (That was early on in their friendship, as opposed to later when Egelric would have been drunk with him.)
I also remember that at some point in the dream I woke up DETERMINED to write my OWN STORY about this.
I really wish I could remember more of that second dream. *Sigh* It seems my subconscious has begun a dream war with Van. Or something.

Oooooh, I had another one last night! It wasn't quite as awesome as the shirtless-Lar-is-my-substitute-teacher one, but it was still pretty cool in its own way.

So I dreamt that I was... either Gwynn or Meggie, I forget which, but it didn't really matter since I was just kind of there and not really part of the action. Anyway, I was in Alred's study, chilling with Alred, and then all of a sudden Leofric comes in, begging for forgiveness. Alred, naturally, is really angry, so he starts shouting and I get kind of scared, and then Leofric notices I'm there and just kind of stares at me.

So this is the part where it gets to be completely unrealistic in regards to the story. Leofric says something along the lines of "Matilda's daughter is so beautiful", which might as well be a sort of "O HAI, IS DIS UR DOTTER?" if it happened in the story, but instead of freaking out, Alred was all like "Isn't she?" And then he starts reminiscing about Matilda and so does Leof and they just start have a rational discussion. They talk about Matilda, then Hetty, and then a bunch of random people and things, and.... wait for it... they arrange to go hunting. Together. Like buddies. It was so never-gonna-happen, but it was really a very pleasant dream.

I had the same thought! Well, not about the Dick Cheney, but about the idea of going out alone into the woods with an armed Alred...

What was it like being in the same room with Leof? I don't think anyone has dreamed about him before? * around excitedly*

Leofric? If I remember correctly, he had a massive presence. It was a little difficult to breathe while he was in the room, to be honest.

I actually had a long and rather crazy dream involving tons of elves -- some of whom do not exist outside of the dream -- but I was totally dating Vash. And he took me to meet his family and left me alone with the ladies for a while. His mom was kind of snobby and nasty, but his grandma was awesomely fun.

And then he came back and kissed me hello!

It was actually... not hot at all. But then again he was kissing me in front of his grandma. And I had a half-cranberry stuck to my chin, because his grandma and I were making fake warts out of cranberries and sticking them on each other. (Something lingering in my subconscious from the cranberries I added to the banana bread I baked on Sunday, I guess...)

But oh Lord, the minty stubble of Vash's chin! *sigh* Can I change my phwoariest profile vote?

What an interesting dream. I wonder if Vash's mom was a snotty elf when she was alive.

I forgot to post about my lothere dream I had a couple of day ago. With the violence of the last couple of posts I dreamed of Alred and Maud. It was terrible I was in a room with them and they were having this terrible row. I don't remember what they were arguing about but it was serious. All of a sudden Alred takes out his sword and sliced Maud's head off Anne Boelyn style. I was screaming and scared shitless. But then I did something so weird I grabbed her rosetts off from her head and ran.

I'm having an asthma attack.

That was so unbelievably random, Devin.

I keep trying to imagine what you look like in real life. Taking Maud's stuff.

Oh my gosh. That has to happen in the story. Like really. That was just so unbelievably bizarre.

I was thinking crayons, because it's far more difficult to be creative and spontaneous in other media, like colored pencils say, where you actually could make some sort of grown-up looking art. With crayons you're going to look childish anyway, so it's easier to go wild with it.

Therefore we shall also accept fingerpaintings.

hehe I actually think that question was directed at me, Van. And my response is a little bit from column A and a little bit from column B.

I have several self-portraits at my disposal and none of them are done in crayon.

But I think that I'll just go with a standard issue photograph.
