As the dressmaker recently said, he would do it if someone said he wouldn't dare.
It is an interesting thought, though. I've been thinking recently about rewriting some of the earlier chapters, and I wonder whether I would even be able to find the voice of the Old Egelric again. He's changed so much.

This quote gives me the giggles every time, as I envision Egelric pulling his kilt over his face while everyone else gapes in disbelief.

The new random feature linked me to this chapter, and I figured I'd comment here instead in the name of spoiler reduction. I must say I agree with Cassie about this quote from Egelric's more gentlemanly days. TEH IRONY!!!!! Sure, if Maud said 'Boo' at 1073 Egelric, maybe he'd pull his skirts up over his face and cry, but if Maud said 'Boo' at 1085 Egelric, he'd probably pull her skirts up over his face and blow.
