“I am certain that when Death comes for you — which I hope will not be for an extraordinarily long time — you will look him in the eye and say, ‘Very well! I only hope this will be interesting!’”
That's the second time Egelric said something like that to one of his wives and it actually came true. Its best that he remains single.
Are you thinking of the "too pretty to last long" quote?
Maybe Egelric just needs to learn to keep his mouth shut. However, I admit that when I wrote that chapter, I never thought Lili would die so soon.
Yes that same quote. Haven't you notice that Elfleda, Lady Sela and Lili never lived to see the age of thirty or see their babies grow into children. None of them can say that they knew their mothers. Egelric is kinda the black widower of Lothere.
If I was directing Lothere and did Lili’s death scene then in her final moments, I’d have her remember what Egelric said then. Just to make it more tearjerking.
Don’t mind me. Just randomly musing here.
*cry*
I had forgotten all about this chapter. They were so so sweet together, and each too afraid to say they loved the other then.
