I just updated the site this morning with a bunch of changes I’ve been working on for the past weeks. Nearly all of it is behind-the-scenes stuff that won’t make any difference to you — in my business, the rule is: if the customer can’t see it, you didn’t do it — so I wouldn’t ordinarily tell you except to warn you that there may be exciting new bugs. I tested the usual stuff — reading & writing chapters and making comments — but you never know.
Read on to find out what you will notice…
I probably did implement a few things you will see, but I forgot to write them down. The only thing I remember is the addition of cookies to make the site remember your name, email, and URL if you are commenting while not logged in, which brings us in line with the behavior of WordPress, et al.
Oh, and if you’re the kind of person who reads to the bottom of the comments before going to the next chapter, I added yet another next chapter & previous chapter navigation link after the last comment. There’s this blog I’m currently reading through (not Sims-related) and I do tend to read all the comments, and I’m always all %*@! at the end because the only way to go to the next post is to scroll up to the end of the post / start of the comments. And then I was all “Wait, I don’t have a ‘Next’ link at the bottom of my own blog…” So I apologize if anyone has been %*@ing at me all this time.
Ooh ooh! And I added children’s ages on their parent’s bio page if they’re still alive, so you can see at a glance how old favorite characters’ kids are. And I added the “age at marriage” on the person’s own bio page, but only for the person himself… I haven’t figured out an elegant way to display that message for the spouse yet.
Anyway there’s probably more, but that’s all I remember.
For our concluding random image… hmm let’s see… How about a glimpse of characters to come?
Oh thats one of the healer ladies.
Its going to be very interesting to see the lives of Lothere's middle class and peasants.
